The Stormy Monday Blues Band are a five piece British Blues outfit from around the North Staffordshire area,performing at live music venues, festivals,pubs & Clubs throughout the United Kingdom and Beyond...........WATCH THIS SPACE......... The Stormy Mondays are named after a song originally written in 1947 as "call it stormy monday" by T bone Walker, one of the first Blues players to apply the use of electric guitar,this has become a standard for Blues musicians everywhere. |
INFLUENCE'S
The Stormy Mondays are influenced by all aspects of the blues from the early Delta sounds of artists such as Leadbelly, Robert Johnson and Muddy Waters,throught to the sixties "Blues Boom", with artists such as Peter Green, Eric Clapton and Jimi Hendrix to name but a few. Not forgetting the three Kings Freddie, Albert and BB.We also incorporate some original tracks written by John Codes. |
Our first C.D. here at last
Yes our first E.P. is now available.A six track C.D with songs from the set including Hoochie Coochie Man, Sweet Home Chicago and two original songs written by our very own John Codes. The C.D. was recorded at Abbey Sounds Studios Rugeley Staffs in February, a good day had by all.
